Show 1EIIIS ARE IDE FOR OPERA coMnunr I fW" W" J. Morris Christcnson and Miss Nayneen Farrel. All arrangements for the appear-anco appear-anco of the Brigham Young Collego Opera company at the Orpheum theater, thea-ter, Wednesday night, were completed late Saturday afterno6n, Manager Joseph Jos-eph Goss of the theater shortening his run of the cinema drama "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under tho Sea" from four days to three, to accommodate accommo-date the Logan people. Prof. W. O Robinson, director of the opera company, com-pany, remained in Ogden yesterday and today and visited a number of his local friends, all of whom welcomed tho prospective musical treat which is to be presented under his direction. direc-tion. No finer amateur opera productions have been given in Ogden during the past six years that those of the B. Y. C. company and their 1917 show, "The Yankee Consul," is reported to be the best ever attempted. This opera, made famous with Raymond Hitchcock, Hitch-cock, Flora Zabelle and Eva Davenport Daven-port in the leading roles, is a happy, though pretentious, selection and a fine treat is promised local theatergoers theater-goers when it is presented. Professor Robinson has added three special numbers num-bers to the original score and if the success of other interpolations made by him in other opera productions are a fair criterion, these should prove of special delight. Miss Nayneen Farrell, a popular Logan Lo-gan society girl, is cast in the role of Bonita, tho role in which Flora Zabelle Za-belle achieved fame. She is said to possess a soprano voice of beautiful quality, unusual skill as a dancer and much charm of person and personality. person-ality. rr |
