Payne on a charge of disturbing the peace. Horses Stolen The theft of two horses last night was reported at police po-lice headquarters today. One of the animals was a roan belonging to H. C Saunders of 427 Twentieth street, and the other a gray mare belonging to Mr. Sandiford, 214 Thlrty.-first street. The weight of each horse, it was reported, re-ported, is about 700 pounds. Fire at Gas Plant. One of tho most spectacular fires seen in Ogden in several sev-eral months occurred about 7:15 o'clock Saturday evening, at the gas plant of tho Utah Power and Light company. A tank of tar, located near Wall avenue on Twentieth street, took fire Almost in an instant, great volumes vol-umes of dense black smoke emerged from the top of the tank and shortly afterward the flames of fire shot up high into the heavens The fire department de-partment was called and virtually all of the equipment at the central fire station was on the scene. Railroad Clear Officials of the Union Pacific and other railroads stated stat-ed at 3 o'clock this afternoon that the railroads are clear of all weather impediments im-pediments and arrangements have been perfected to handle troops and equipment with the utmost dispatch, in case of need.
