Show SAMUEL M. PURDY SUCCUMBS TO HEIBTITTSCK Samuel Mathew Purdy, one of Og-den's Og-den's well known citizens, passed away todav at 9 a. in. at the home of Fred Kenyon, 113 Twenty-sixth street, after six months' illness of heart trouble. Mr. Purdv was born in London, March 3, 1842, the son of Samuel and Eliza Chapman Purdy, and joined the Church of Latter-day Saints in England, Eng-land, coming to Utah in 1S62. He returned re-turned to London in 1SG9, where ho married Miss Lydia Riddle, returning to Utah later. His wife preceded him in death, having passed away in 1878. Mr. Purdy -was a high priest in the church and an active worker. Two children survive, Miss Fred Kenyon and Harry Purdy, also three grandchildren grand-children and the following brothers and sisters: William Purdy, James Purdy and Mrs, Chnrles H.
