Show Biigliam City Society (Special to The Standard.) BRIGHAM CITY, June 30. Professor Profes-sor Mose Chrlstensen of Portland, Ore., is spending a few days In Brig-ham Brig-ham visiting his brother and family, Professor and Mrs Chris Chrlstensen. The Social Development club was entertained by Mrs. Emery Reos and Mrs W I. McNeil at the home of the latter Friday afternoon. A letter from Mrs. Stewart Horsley, a former member mem-ber of the club, who is now in Hawaii, was read Refreshments were served by the hostesses. Present were Mrs. Perry D. Peters, Mrs. Alphonzo Nelson, Nel-son, Mrs. Frank Earl, Mr6 Kenneth C. Wright, Mrs Milton Jensen, Mrs. Wil-ford Wil-ford Anderson, Mrs. Norman Iverson, Mrs. W. I. Miss Nola Bowring was the honored hon-ored guest at a delightful shower Monday Mon-day evening given by the Misses Lillian Lil-lian and Grace Halverson at the beautiful new home of Mr. and Mrs. JameB E. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Jensen of Bingham spent a few days here visiting visit-ing Mrs. Maren Jensen. Mrs. Parley Rees of Logan spent a few days of the week here visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Carl Brandley and two children of Salt Lake were guests of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. E. P. Coburn, on Sunday. Mrs A. L. Hurst of Buhl, Idaho, en route to Omaha, spent a few days in this city visiting Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Webb. W. M. Peery passed through Brig-ham Brig-ham from Hearne, Texas, early in the week, bound for Logan, and was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George Tiller. Mr. and Mrs. William Jensen have gone to Elkhorn, Wyo., to remain during dur-ing the summer. Mrs. I. Jacobsen of Pocatello spent the fore part of the week in Brigham, the guest of Mrs. W. I. McNeil. Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum W. "Valentine entertained Mr. and Mrs. D. Pickett of Ogden last Sunday. Mrs. P. J. Petersen entertained at luncheon Tuesday afternoon for Miss Anna Olsen of Salt Lake, who spent a few days in this city visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Olsen. Among the guests present were Mrs. Oscar Olsen of Ogden, Mrs. J. M. Hess, Mrs. C. A. Kaiser, Mrs. Eliza Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Olsen, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Petersen, Mrs. R. Kaisor and John Olsen of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Miss Norma Anderson went down to Salt Lake Thursday evening to spend a few days visiting friends. The L T. C. club met Sunday afternoon after-noon at the home of Misses Virginia and Norma Thompson. Dinner was served, and those present were Miss Chloe Stokes, Miss Ethel Stokes, Miss Nellie Jensen, Miss Ida Flack, Miss Pearl Cheal, Miss Katherine Rogers, Miss Leona Johnson of Salt Lake, Mrs. Paul Pruitt of Ogden, Mrs. Max Fish-burn Fish-burn and Mrs. G. W. Stokes. Mrs. I. Jacobsen of Pocatello was the guest of Dr. and Mrs. W. I. McNeil a few days during the early part of the week. The Y. M. club and their husbands enjoyed an outing to the Hot Springs Wednesday evening. Luncheon was served at the springs before returning. Sunday afternoon Mr and Mrs. William Wil-liam Preston gave a dinner in honor of Miss Mae Preston of Weston, who was married Wednesday in Salt Lake to Jed L. JenBen of Rexburg, Idaho. The guests at the dinner were Thomas Preston and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Phil-Ups'of Phil-Ups'of Weston, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs.' L. W. Preston of Garland, Miss Nellie Barnard of Garland, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Knudson, Mr. and Mrs. Waldemar C. Call, Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Hbrsley, Miss Marco Madsen, Miss Violet Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Miss Martha Evans and Stanley J. Madsen. Wednesday evening Miss Louise Berg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Berg, returned home from a visit of several months in southern California. The Civic Improvement club mot Wedneslay aftornoon at the home of Mrs. Charles W. Knudson and tendered ten-dered a farewell in honor of Mrs. A. M. Merrill, who will leave soon with Professor Merrill for Sandy. Mrs. O. C. Jacobsen sang "As the Dawn" and Professor H. E. Webb gave a talk on social hygieno; Mrs. William J. Lowe gave a reading, "The Spell of the Yukon." The serving committee was composed of Mrs. W. R. Dredge, Mrs. W. L. Hoist, Mrs. John H. Zundel, Mrs. Wynn L. Eddy, Mrs. W. O. Knudson Knud-son and Miss Eliza Hanson. |
