Show TWO YOUNG MEN TO' aim series 1 OF MM Determined to stay with the Utah boys, In their services, rather than be drafted and sent, they know not whither, two more well-known Ogden young men have cnllstod with the National Guard. Clarenco M. Ferguson, civil engineer engi-neer and architect, with offices in tho Colonel Hudson building, added xhis name yesterday. Joseph Earl Ballan-tyne, Ballan-tyne, son of Joseph Ballantyne, director direc-tor of tho tabernacle choir and prom-inonl prom-inonl musical instructor, was the other man. He Is connected with Eber F. Piers, architect, being himself a civil ongineer and architectural draftsman. Ferguson is particularly qualified for military service, having had two years of training while attending college in the east. These young men, with the qualifications qualifica-tions they havo for entering one of a number of branches of Uncle Sam's service, havo choson to remain with the Ogden boys, wherever and when-ovor when-ovor they may bo sent. The officers and clorical staff of Battery B are at present busy with reports and other work relative to tho conversion of the troops from cavalry to artillery. The officers are busy with final preparations for their departure to the training camp at tho Jordan Narrows, where they will go on July 6. " |
