Show CHAMPIONSHIP IT TEIS TOUREY IS DECIDED Earl Harris and Hugh Crca won tho championship In men's doubles over Dale Pingrec and C, L. Tuttlo in the local tennis tournament last evening, after playing one of the hardest fought matches over staged on the Ogden courts. The referee called tho contest at 6 30 and from that moment on a record crowd was kept In a, rrenzy that did not subside until tho last game had boon won. Saying tho match was far above par would bo putting It mildly. In fact, tho contestants were so eager to win tho trophies offorcd by local business men that Mr. Tuttle smashed his racquet and was forced to continue with a borrowed one, whilo Mr. Harris sprained his ankle while attempting a difficult return. At 8 o'clock the match ended, by a scoro of 8-6, 9-7, 6-3. Hnrria and Crca will meet Johnston and Moyes next week in tho challongo round and the winners will receive two beautiful loving cups as trophies from Browning Brown-ing Brothers. Ferril Hess and Arcadia Culver won the ladies' finals at the Ogden Tennis club courts last evening by defeating Grace Jennings and Louise Pierce, former for-mer holders of tho cups. The score was 6-2, 6-2. Tho cups for this class have now been turned over to Miss Hess and Miss Culver Tho cups were donated by W. H. Wright & Sons and Browning Brothers company. Miss Culver defeated Miss Hess in the ladles' singles, winning a cup donated do-nated by the forestry service. Miss Hess has received a bathing suit donated do-nated by Browning Brothers. The score was 7-5 and 6-3 in this matoh. Miss Culver and Miss Hess as a result re-sult of winning last night's match will bo entered in the national tournament to be held in Salt Lake City some time In August.
