Show oo CAMPBELL WILL CONTEST OPENS St Louis. Mo.. April 19 Trial of the suit against the will of James Campbell, traction magnate, was scheduled in the circuit court here today. to-day. An estate conservatively estimated esti-mated at $16,000,000 Is Involved. The contestant's case hinges chiefly upon the question of whether Mrs. I ols Campbell Burkham Is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Campbell. The claim also is made that Campbell Camp-bell was of unsound mind. Campbell left his entire estate in equal shares to his widow and to Lois Campbell, to whom he referred as his daughter. After their death and the death of any heir which Mrs. Burkham Burk-ham may leave, the entire estate will go to St. Louis university for the establishment of a medical school and hospital. The contestant's strongest witness. ! it is said, will be Mrs. Edith Blair, by whose testimony they will attempt to prove that Mrs. Lois Campbell Burkham is the daughter of a Mrs. Hicks, now dead, who was a stepdaughter step-daughter of Mrs. Blair and that Mrs. Hicks' child was adopted by the Campbells and therefore Is not entitled en-titled to a half uhare of the estate |
