Show BOX ELDER SCHOOL IS WINNER IN BIO DEBUTE The debaters from the Box Elder high school were victorious last night in the annual triangular debate of the Weber-Box Elder county subdivision of the northern division of the State high school debating league, winning two of the three debates. In the third debate, the Ogden high school team defeated the Weber academy team Four debaters, forming two teams, from each school participated in the debates, two taking the affirmative and two the negative side of the question. ques-tion. At the Weber academy, Leland Evans and LeRoy Lelshman of the home school took the affirmative side against Miss Leona Holmgren and Sam Soramer of the Box Elder high school At the Ogden high school, Wllma Sandstrom and Florence Doxey of the home school took the affirmative affirma-tive against Cora Kaslus and Floyd Flckett of the Weber academy. At Brigham City, Albert Anderson and Alice Reddy of the Box Elder high school took the affirmative against Mabel Williams and Ernest Balch of th Ogden high school. In the local debates the following acted as Judges. At the Ogden high Bchool. J. G. Willis of Ogden, J. M. Cheney and J. Stockman of Salt Lake City. At the Weber academy, J A Howell How-ell of Ogden. 0. D, Peters of Brigham City and G. D Parkinson of Salt Lake City. At the high school, Alma Lindsay acted as chairman and E. S. Hinckley Hinck-ley held the same position at the Weber academy. The question debated was: "Resolved, That the United States should immediately put Into operation a policy which will substantially Increase In-crease our standing armament" All of the youthful debaters handled the arguments in a surprisingly able manuer, showing that they were not only well practiced In the art of public pub-lic speaking, but that they had mad a deep study of the subject under consideration. con-sideration.
