Show OO SALOON IS HELD UP BY MASKED ROBBERS Salt Lake. Aprli 20 Masked and each armed with a revolver, two men entered the North Salt Lake bar. 80 North Third West street, at 11:55 o'clock last night, held up John D. Rocco. the proprietor, and obtained $25 from the cash register. When the robbers entered the saloon sa-loon there were about twenty men in a billiard room ln the rear. The tallest of the men leveled his gun at Rocco, while his shorter companion went behind the bar and rifled the cash register of the money. Then, without so much as glancing at the crowd ln the pool hall some of whom were unaware that the saloon was being be-ing held up, the robbers left and ran north along Third West in the dlree tlon of the Oregon Short Line yards. No sooner had the bandits left than I Mr Rocco, obtaining a revolver, ran I to the street Just aa the men were disappearing ln the darkness. He fired two shots, but neither hit its mark, so far as known The jpollce were notified and Detectives Janiee Woodard and Jack Egbert investigated, investigat-ed, but were unable to obtain more than a description which might lead to the arrest of the robbers. |
