Show TRANSFER STOCK CLEVELAND CLUB Final Arrangements to Be Completed Today at Cleveland Cleve-land Rumors as to Buyer. p Chicago, Feb. 23. Transfer of the stock of the Cleveland American league club from the bankers holding Charles W. Somers interests to J. C. Dunn and his colleagues, Is to take place at Cleveland tomorrow and to-nigh to-nigh L Mr. Dunn, President Johnson of the American league, Robert Mc-Roy Mc-Roy and Reed Lane have left for the Forest City, and although it is not expected ex-pected that the organization of the new club will take place tomorrow, the list of stockholders may be given out and a date for their'first meeting meet-ing set. Discussion leading to the transfer of the Cleveland American association lH team, another Somers holding, is to j H take place tomorrow at the scheduled H meeting of the association at Colum- H bus. President Chivington, who left ,H tonight for Columbus, said he knew H of no plans which would result in an immediate sale of the franchise or its H transfer, but rumors persisted here jH today that Charles Thomas, former jH president of the Chicago Nationals, H would be the buyer. jH Whether It will be placed In Toledo H or some other city was not known, H though it was reported the other day IH that an eastern town might get the ll place. Besides Mr. Thomas. George H Stovall today was mentioned among H the possible purchasers. H The sale of the Indians will be en- H tirely independent of the sale of the H association club, except that the H American league and the Dunn syndl- jH cate both have insitsed that the lat- H ter team must he taken, away from jH Cleveland. There is said to be a H movement on foot among association H magnates to take over the franchise H should other bidders not make satis- JH factory offers.
