The purchase pur-chase from the Royal Dutch West India In-dia Mall of three large passenger and freight steamships by the Pacific Mail Steamship company, under the joint control of tho American International Inter-national Corporation of New York anl W. R. Grace &. Co. of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, was announced here today. The deal, it was reported, Involving an ex penditure of 34,000,000 by the purchase ers, was consummated in New York City yesterday. It was also announced that as soon as the vessels can be brought to the Pacific coast, they will be placed in service, running out of this port to J Central American and Panama ports. Two More to Be Built. The statement was also made that a two more vessels of similar construe- (J tion, the plans for which are already s drawn, will be added to the fleet later.
