Strength developed devel-oped In the wheat market today as a result or unexpected firmness In quo tations from Liverpool and because of a diminishing of receipts northwest. Besides there were signs that liberal export transactions were likely at the seaboard. It was predicted also that Argentine stiipments would prove much smaller than last week's total. After opening 1-8 off to 3-8c up, with May at $1.23 3-8 to 1.23 5-8 and July at $1.19 1-2 to 1.19 3-4, prices here scored a substantial advance all around. Corn hardened with wheat. Commission Com-mission houses were moderate buyers. buy-ers. The opening, which ranged from l-8l-4 to 3-8c higher, was followed by an additional upturn. Oats reflected the advance made by other cereals. Demand, however, was light. Steadiness characterized provisions. Traders chiefly watched the action of the hog market. Later the wheat market suffered a senqatlonal break, the consequence of bearish rumors of greatly Increased tension between the United States and Germany. The close was semi-demoralized, semi-demoralized, 5 to o 3-4c net lower with May at $1.17 1-2 and July at $1.14 5-8. Subsequently sharp declines in corn took place influenced by the break in the value of wheat. The close was nervous, 1 3-4 to 1 5-8c under yester- Hav'r finish. Omaha Livestock.
