Show oo CANDY COMPANIES ENTER PROTEST Washington, April G Fivo hundred candy companies, including all the principal manufacturers in the United States, today petitioned tho interstate commerce commission for a general readjustment of rates to all points west of the Mississippi river. Approximately Approx-imately ?750 railroad and steamship companies are made defendents to the proceedings. Lower and unclasslfication and Inconsequent In-consequent reductions In rates are sought. The manufacturers also petition the commission to direct the railroads to reimburse them for the difference, paid during the several years, the higher classification has been in effect ef-fect between the present rates and tho former rates. nn |
