Show ATTEMPTED TO FORCE HIS WAY INTO A HOME In the police court today, Gust Callas, a Greek, was convicted of battery bat-tery and fined $15. The complaining witness was Frank Brodzik, and the offense was committed on April 4th, in a Grant avenue rooming house. Due to the revolting circumstances In the case, the courtroom was cleared hile it was tried. Callas was arrested ar-rested by Patrolman Richardson and Brodzik was held as a witness. Nick Koos, a Greek, and Earl Maxwell, Max-well, arrested on a similar charge, April 1st, forfeited bail, Koos leaving $5 and Maxwell ?10 with the desk sergeant. V. Ward and George Bond pleaded guilty to drunkenness and were each sontenced to pay a fine of $5 or to serve five days in jail. S. P. Dunlap, a confessed "mooch-er," "mooch-er," was givon a ten-days' jail sentence. sen-tence. George Dalton was found guilty of disturbing the peace, the witnesses for the prosecution being Mrs. Frances Fran-ces Kayser, Verna, Mazle and Howard Kayser. According to their testimony, Dalton attempted to force an entrance to the Keyser home and, falling, broke one of tho front windows with a rock. He denied this, but admitted having been about "half drunk" on the night in question, April 4th. The sentence pronounced on the defendant was a ?10 fine or ten days in jail. |
