Show JAPANESE PREMIER HAS CLOSE CALL Tokio, Japan, Jan. 13. Count Oku-man, Oku-man, the Japaueso premier, had a narrow escape 'from death early today to-day at tho hands of assassins. He was returning from the royal palace shortly after midnight when two bombs were hurled at him. The premier was not injured. Okuma's chauffeur caught a glimpse of the bomb thrower as he was about to launch his mlsslo and put on speed so that the bomb exploded behind his machine without causing any damage. A second bomb was thrown but it failed to explode. The assailant, or assailants, escaped. |
