He said today he was not going to manage the proposed bout, but simply was furnishing the financial backing for McCracken. "Since I came here this winter," Rickard said, "I have attended a number num-ber of sporting events and have noticed no-ticed that there is unlimited gate money for anything out of thn ordi- nar- in the way of sport contests. I told McCracken I thought a bout between be-tween Willard and Moran would be a big money-maker and ho said he v ould undertake to bring the men together to-gether if I would supply the capital. It looked like a chance to make money, mon-ey, so I agreed.
