Show BRICKHOUSE WINS TELEGRAPH CONTEST San Francisco, Aug 29. The Carnegie Car-negie diamond medal, representing tho all-round telegraphic championship, champion-ship, was awarded today to T S. Brickhouse of San Francisco, and until un-til recently with the Associated Press. The championship contest, which was the feature of the telegraphers' tournament tour-nament in connection with the Pan-amarPacific Pan-amarPacific exposition, began at 3 p mf yesterday and continued until early today. H. C. Emrich, also of San Francisco, was second. The championship test Included the sending of twenty commercial messages, mes-sages, ten railroad messages, 500 words of preBs matter and a stipulated stipulat-ed amount of brokerage matter, and 1000 words of press copy. Tho winner's win-ner's time was 38 minutes, 49 3-5 seconds. sec-onds. Brickhouse also took first honors in the commercial contest for sending sixty messages. H. E.
