Show Chicago Grain Chicago, Aug. 30. A rush of buying from the short side lifted wheat 1-8 to lc higher today at the opening, with September at 97 3-4 to 98 l-4c, and December at 95 1-2 to 96 1-4. Large holders let go freely for profit taking and the market soon receded, the reaction amounting to a range of 3-4 to 1 1-4. The market seemed to be a speculative one with little outside out-side Influences. For a time prices held within the lower range. Corn at the start showed an upturn up-turn of 6-8 to 1 l-8c on reports of frost in Nebraska and Iowa, killing frost being reported from near Mason City. la. September opened at 74 3-8 to 75, an advance of 1 to 1 l-8c, and December at 64 1-4 to 5-8 a rise of 3-8 to 1 1-8. Heavy offerings caused a recession of nearly a cent after a slight rally Oats followed other grain in an early rise and then eased off.
