Goggin was unanimously re-elected grand knight of Salt Lako council No. C02 of the Knights of Columbus at tho annual an-nual election of officers of the council held last evening at tho clubrooms of tho order in the Hotel Utah. The past year was ono of tho most successful suc-cessful ever experienced by tho Salt Lajco council and its success was largely due to the work of the grand knight The members of the council, therefore, took occaston last night to express their appreciation of tho work of (Mr. Goggin by unanimously unanimous-ly re-electing him to this position. Other officers chosen by tho council last night were Donald J. Morrison, deputy grand knight, D. G. Hunt, chancellor; Joseph F. McKay, warden; ward-en; Dr J. J. Galligan, advocate, S. A. Nelligan, financial secretary; H. B. Markus, recorder; C. A. Locke, treasurer; treas-urer; Daniel Glllis, inshle guard, John J. Salmons, outside guard; John Griffin, trustee, three-year term, A J. Glllis, trustee two-year term; James Kelly, trustee, one-year term. Tho Right Rev Joseph S Glass, C. M., D. D, bishop of Salt Lake; the Right Rev. Monsignor J. M. McCarthy, McCar-thy, V. F., of Fresno, Cal , and the Rev Dr R. J. Cotter of South Pasadena, Pasa-dena, Cal., all members of tho order, wero guests of honor at tho meeting of the Knights of Columbus. Bishop Glass is a charter member of tho Los Angeles council of tho Knights of Columbus and a charter member of the Los Angeles assembly of the fourth degree of tho order. Monsignor Monsig-nor McCarthy is a member of the Fresno council and Dr Cotter has been for twenty-one years an active member of the order. All three spoke briefly. Bishop Glass promised to meot often with the Knights of Columbus, while Monsignor McCarthy McCar-thy and Dr. Cotter bade farewell to their friends in tho council. They are leaving this forenoon for their California homes After the addresses address-es of the visitors there was an informal in-formal reception for Bishop Glass and his distinguished friends. |
