Show THE CAMPAIGN THIS WINTER. All of the war correspondents refer re-fer to the approaching winter storms as 'promising a check to the German drive in Russia. If the Germans proceed east from Bukowlna and turn south along the eastern border of Rumania, they will be in position to sweep along the coast of the Black Sea and on to Odessa. That part of Russia has a mild climate and a campaign could be carried on throughout tho winter. Once they reach tho shores of the Black Sea, the Germans can be of direct di-rect aid to the Turks and, with submarines sub-marines transported by rail and launched in tho Black Sea, they can gain a mastery of those waters. With this prospective move in sight, Russia is not yet out of the woods. |
