Show ELK MUST GIVE WAY TO CATTLE AND HORSES Forefltor Homer E Fenn of the grazing department of the forest service, ser-vice, and R. K Miller, supervisor of the Teton forest, returned last evening eve-ning from Cheyenne, Wyo.. where they held a conference with the governor gov-ernor respecting the question of open Ing part of the elk preserve for the graring of cattle. The gentlemen state that the con ferenee was very satlsfactoiy and they are of th opinion that stps will be taken to closely restrict the elk to a smaller territory, which will fur nish additional grazing lands for (attic (at-tic and horses. Th herds of elk, however, will be fully protected and taken care of by th government and the state of Wyoming. |
