Show 00- H. W. KLEEB IS NOT GUILTY, SAYS JURY Salt Lake. April 10. After nine hours of deliberation the jury in the ( use of the state against H W Kleeb. charged with robbery, returned a ver diet of not guilt j at 1" 30 o'clock last night. Kleeb has been on trial for a iuil week charged with having robbed the No 5 Schramm-Jolinson drug store at Third South and Main streets of $1806.13 on the night of August 29. 1914. When arrested he had $5no in his possession, but witnesses for the defense gave testimony that ac-1 ac-1 ounted for this money Kleeb bad been engaged as a clerk at the store and resigned a few days prior to the burglary, with the de- dared intention of going to California and entering the drug business for himself. Competent testimonv was offered by the defendant's attorneys, Parley P. Jenson and Thomas IfOrio-neaux. IfOrio-neaux. to show that Kleeb had an excellent ex-cellent reputation for years. It was the contention of the state that the burglary could not have been perpetrated by any person except someone familiar with the interior arrangement ar-rangement of the store. |
