Show AN OLD MAN S BIRTHDAY April 9, 1915. Another .Mile stone on llles highway, Which leads to w-ho knows where' A mile stone nearer the end of things On the road of joy and care The time was, when I was young and gay. Bach mile stone brought more Joy . That was the time when I. now old, Was a happy thoughtless boy; And then my friends all gathered round With kind w Ishes and happ smile-. But where are they Those good o'd friends They've fallen alone the miles Today. I'm old and not a line From relative or friend I see. The fact is driven to my aching heart . That none remembe me When the hair is gray and the teeth unsound, nd the eyes arc growing dim, The old man learns this last sad fact That none remember him. F. f R. no |
