Show GEORGE WINTER DIES AFTER BRIEF ILLNESS PocateUo, Ida., Dec. 9. Colon"! George Winter, aged f3 years, manager man-ager of the PocateUo Water company, one of the pioneers and a famous engineer, en-gineer, died this morning at 8 o'clock of pneumonia. He contracted the malady in Salt Lake last week and was brought home last night, but could not rally on account of age. Colonel Winter was born at Portsmouth. Ports-mouth. England. April 20. 1853. of a distinguished English family. As an engineer he built railroads in India and received honors from his government. govern-ment. He was a member of the American Engineering association, well known throughout the west, and had resided in PocateUo for twenty-two twenty-two years. He is survived by his widow and daughter Marjorie, a gifted gift-ed musician. Colonel Winter was a member of the Elks' lodge and greatly interested in charity. The body will be cremated at Denver. Alex .Murray, nephew of James A.
