Show IMPORTANT STRIKE ON CODD LEASE Salt Lake, April 15. A. A. Codd has made an important strike on his lease on a portion of the Rochester Mines ground, according to a telegram received re-ceived yesterday by John F. Cowan. Appearances indicate, It is declared, that ft is the biggest find yet made In the camp, mine assays showing values val-ues of from ?170 to $175. The discovery was made in a vein parallel to the one from which Codd has taken most of his ore. It is said to show where tapped a face of eight feet of ore and since then they have sunk on It twelve feet, all in ore. The camp Is much excited over this find, as it is one of the deepest workings in the district, and establishes estab-lishes beyond question that there "are several ore-bearing veins which have not yet been explored and that the ore makes to greater depth than has been proven up to the present time. In the Nenzel lease the report from Carson City is to the effect that Nenzel was given until Monday night to furnish a bond of $20,000. If he was able to provide this bond the court agreed to give him more time to put up the balance of the appeal bond which he was required to give, amounting in all to $105,000. Unless he perfected the $20,000 bond Tuesday, Tues-day, it is understood that the court would make a permanent award of the stock that has been deposited to his partners, Dr. George and the Stephens boys. In case the award is made to Nenzel's partners, some of the attorneys take the view that Nenrel will still have six months to redeem these interests. Salt Lake interests are awaiting the decision of the court in this matter of Nenzel perfecting his appeal. In case he fails to furnish the bond as required by court, It is understood that tho local people will call a stockholders' meeting and reorganize the company. Cowan, Friedman and Hunter are among the largest individual indi-vidual stockholders, and they will probably have the George and Stephens Ste-phens Interests with them in electing a directorate. The annual stockhold- era meeting should have been held January 1, 1914, but Nenzel's litigation litiga-tion has prevented the holding of such I a meeting. |
