Davis states that he expects to take up the trial of Joseph Henry Martin for tho alleged robbery of Mrs. Isabella Wal- lin in July. He says that if a conviction con-viction is had in that case, the term of prison life for the defendant will not necessarily begin until after tho term of incarceration that will be required in the present case has expired. ex-pired. He made his escape es-cape last Thursday and was caught on Saturday at Arrow Rock Dam, near Boise, Idaho. At Sixth War3 Mrs. Jane L. Her-rick, Her-rick, assisted by Miss Josephine Her-rick Her-rick and Miss Frances Boardman will give a literary and musical recital tonight to-night in the Sixth ward meeting house for the benefit of the ward Y. L. and Y. M, M. I. associations. At Industrial School The students of the state industrial school arc observing ob-serving Arbor day in the planting of a vineyard on the farm and also in the cultivation of some of the shrubbery shrub-bery about the school. A program and lawn picnic have been arranged for the evening. Back Home Again After an ab sence of three months at Long Beach, California, for his health, C. W. Had-ley Had-ley has returned home. He states that his health is greatly improved and that he has enjoyed the sojourn on the coast. Knights of Pythias The local Knights of Pythias lodge will be visited vis-ited next Monday night by the officers offi-cers of the Utah grand lodge. The meeting will be held for the purpose of giving several new members tho "amplified third" rank and twenty candidates will be initiated. Following Follow-ing tho business meeting, the grand lodge officers will be guests of honor at a banauctv Last Friday, April 10, at Farming-ton, Farming-ton, Miss Gertrude Gleerup and William Wil-liam Newcomb both of Ogden, were quietly married. The announcement of the affair came as a surprise to their many friends. |
