Show SUIT BROUGHT AGAINST QUINN Baltimore, Md.. April 15 A duplicate dupli-cate of a suit brought in New York by James E. Gaffney, president of the Boston National League club for $25,000 -for the loss of Jack Quinn, , was brought in the United States district court here yesterday. Quinn yesterday pitched the Baltimore club to victory over Buffalo In the opening open-ing game of the Federal league season. sea-son. The suit charges alleged conspiracy. conspir-acy. It was brought by the Boston National League club against Edward A. Hanlon, director, and Otto Knabe, manager of the Baltiinoro Federal League club; Jack Quinn. and James A. Gilmore, and the Federal league, of which he is president. It is allesred that Quinn agreed In writing to sign a contract with the Boston club several weeks before he signed with the Baltimore Federals. It also Is alleged that after Quinn had accoptcd a contract with Boston, he was given a check for $3500 by Hanlon and Knabe and signed a Fed- oral contract in spite of tho knowl-edge knowl-edge that Quinn had accepted terms with Boston. Gilmore, it Is alleged agreed not to sign Quinn until the case had been reviewed in a joint conference. L.
