Show CHILD LEFT ON THE DOORSTEP OF THE CLARK HOME A baby boy was left last night on the front doorstep of-the Walter Clark residence, 17GC Pacific avenue, about 8:15 o'clock, In the midst of the heavy rain at that hour. About a half hour previous to that time. an unknown women left a suitcase filled with baby clothes on the step. She was seen just after she had gone through the front gate by W. Lothrop, a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Clark. Mr. Lothrop took the suit-case Into the house and, coming out later, found the babe. The child was well dressed and wrapped in two blankets and appeared appear-ed to be about a month old. It has red hair and blue eyes. Pinned on Its blanket was the following note, written with ink on fancy stationery: My father is dead. I am legitimate by birth. Have sympathy and take and keep me. No questions asked, I am yours forever. Mr, and Irrs. Clark lost a two-day old babe on the 24th of last month and they desire to keep the Toundl-ing, Toundl-ing, believing that it will fill the place of the lost one. oo |
