Tho city has no Jurisdiction over school property and did not contract with Mr, O'Neill for tho paving of that part of Twenty-fifth street fronting the high Bohool, and Mr. O'Neill snyB he will not assume the responsibility of doing the paving until ho has a I contraet with the city board of edu- cation. He says that he is ready to lay the concrete base on the street at this time and that it will put him to some inconvenience if he has to return to the job to concrete that little strip at some future time. President Plngree of the school bonrd is not In th city today, but Superintendent Mills states that he knows the board intends to pave the street in front of the high Bchool. The matter was referred to tho building build-ing committee some time ago, Mr. Mills says, and he supposed that an agreement for the paving had been entered into. It 1b likely that the board of education educa-tion will meet this evening and authorize au-thorize the paving. |
