Show U P EARLY THIS r ft REPORTED DEATH OF GEORGE MURPHY WAS INCORRECT alf paine was the engineer on the passenger and he received injuries about the face t from fridays standard at 2 thi morning an engine switching in the yards at granger wyo was struck by passenger train no 3 westbound which should have arrived at this morning but will not reach here until this afternoon about 5 none of the passengers was injured beyond a few slight bruises and a general shaking up but the engineer of the passenger alfred balne of evanston was badly cut about the face and the engineer of the freight sustained ankle as mhd result of jumping from his engine that the number of persons injured was not larger and that many were not killed Is accounted for by reason that at the time 0 the collision the passenger train aal the switch engine were both under control in the yard at granger when the first report of the wreck was received at ogden it was stated that engineer george murphy was on the passenger engine and had been killed but investigation proved that murphy was not in the wreck the train will arrive at ogden about 5 this evanine and will be followed by trains 1 and 9 which were behind the wreck the southern pacific connection was held at ogdan until 1145 a m when it was decided to depart and start another train upon the arrival ot the belated union pacific |
