OCR Text PRAISES AMERICANS n mexican ambassador sees many Y accomplishments st louis nov 8 As the guest of honor at tho banquet given last night at the planters hotel by the spanish american club of st louia senor joaquin de casasus recently ambassador from mexico to the united states took occasion to pay a marked compliment to the nation to which he comes as president representative he said 1 I have just been appointed mexican ambassador to the united states and received a hind invitation from tha latin american club to stop in st leonls as the clubs guest 1 I am highly thankful to you tor your remarks of esteem I 1 must abot conceal from you the great satisfaction that I 1 now experience among these great people the world over or their love of liberty and tor their interest in healthy human activity you have reason enough toh esat and to feel proud of all fhe that was dono by your fathers for all the work you yourselves have done you have become a great nation so organized that men of all races and nationalities can be free citizens your organizations haye bacomo a vast fac tor for all liberty loving countries you have become an indispensable in universal life it la the growth of your resources that feeds all the countries of the civilized world jt la your petroleum that brightens the wick of life it is the gold extracted from your mines that gives power you have lent a kind hand to all human sufferings fe with tbt sewing machine you have aided civilization with your telegraph and your telephone 5 on ha e made short nil distances with your edison lamp you have made the night to disappear allow me to present to you my hearty congratulations for all that you have done and to you the american people the creator of all these honors and bespeak again my friendship
