Show IH POLICE COURT one man who was not quite certain he was drunk those who had been unlawfully drunk were the principal offenders in atie police court yesterday and all buche pleaded gubity to the charge and were fined tor their moral lapse the man who pleaded not guilty to the charge william hosmer is a young man who did not bulto ehnow whether be had been drunk or not ill leave it to you he said to the clerk of the court but the clerk explained that it was up to him to know whether he was drunk or not hosmer admitted that he hail been drinking but claimed that he had not harmed any one As not harming any one does not enter into the question of whether a man is drunk or not a plea of not guilty was entered and the cae was continued in order to obtain witnesses the others who admitted that they were drunk 0 L dunham ralph wryght burt pierce and james williams were fined 5 each wlllie prout after considerable deliberation admitted that ho had disturbed tho peace and in view of his peaceful appearance the small fine of 5 was assessed there wa but one man arraigned on the charge of vagrancy ira otis dla cussed with the clerk what constituted a charge of vagrancy and gave it as bis legal opinion that he waa not guilty As the arresting officer was not present the case was continued until toda william thompson john dails joo bauh and frank graves each forfeited 1 for having violated the bl ordinance mary anderson Ander soa failed to appear lo 10 answer to the charge of disorderly conduct and forfeited 8 which she bad posted for her appearance |
