With tbe knowledge knowl-edge that today's events in the Western West-ern Golf association's fourteenth un-nual un-nual championship tournament would determine the players In the championship cham-pionship semi-finals and would go far toward indicating who would be the two contestants In the finals to be played Saturday it was expected thnt new records on the local course would be established and the attendance fully ful-ly doubled. ' Interest haE been increased nmong the contestants by the fact that approximately ap-proximately 500 yards have been added add-ed to tho nine-hole course by the doubling of the distance to the first hole, thereby Increasing the hazards. The featuro of today's program waa the third championship round, tho first halt to be played In the morning and the second in the afternoon. The other oth-er ovents scheduled were the second round for tho president, vice president, presi-dent, secretary and directors cups in the morning, followed by tho semifinals semi-finals in those events in the aftor-noon. aftor-noon.
