Show MISS OSTLER WOULD REGAIN HER LETTERS. Spanish Fork, July 17. Miss Maud Ostler, who was present at the tragedy trag-edy in tho Sprlngvillo lane Sunday when James Mahan shot and dangerously danger-ously wounded Jack Sharp and then ended his own life, Is anxious to gain possession of letters she had written to Mahan during the past year. The missives are at present in the unfortunate unfortu-nate man's trunk at the office of the Stewart & Dart Honev company. Miss Ostler was not given the letters. let-ters. They will remain In the trunk until instructions as to its disposal are received from the young man's mother. On the Saturday preceding the tragedy, It Is said, Mahan tried to dispose of his gun to two different persons, but was unsuccessful. Saturday Sat-urday evoning, claiming homesickness, he told a friend he wished to leave the town and return to his homo in Cripple Creek. |
