A. trophies. tro-phies. Some fifteen hundred mlleB will be covered between the City of the Straits and the Crescent City and the concluding part of the Journey will be from Memphis to New Orleans. Dr. Du'tton In Charge. In the planning of the detallB of tho tour President Robert P. Hooper of the American Automobile association asked Dr C. E. Dutton of Minneapolis to servo as vice chairman of the touring tour-ing information board, which this year will hove the evont in charge. Dr Dutton has had a widespread experience ex-perience in touring competitions, is president of tho Minnesota State Automobile Au-tomobile association, and last year served as the referee of the state association as-sociation run from the Twin Cities to Helena, Mont Entries are coming in steadily for the Detroit-New Orleans journey, which will start in the City of Straits on October 7 and conclude in the Crescent City on October 19. Recent notable entries include Dr. Wallace Wood of Now Orleans, Frank Hardart of Philadelphia and J. D. Kinsman of Toledo, all long distance tourists of note. Entertainment will be generous frpm the beginning to the end, and Detroit intends to outdo herBelf in hospitality. There will be opportunity opportun-ity of visiting the largo automobile plans, as well as of enjoying the lra-proved lra-proved roads which are being constructed con-structed in Wayne county. It goes without saying that the Hoosier Motor Mo-tor club, in case Minneapolis la visited, vis-ited, will extend a hearty welcome, along with other organizations Memphis Mem-phis is one of the most progressive cities of the Bouth, nnd may be counted count-ed upon to make the stop-over there particularly enjoyable. Of course, it goes without saying that New Orleans Or-leans will make the visitors feel thoroughly at home.
