OCR Text	Show jv YOM KIPPUR IS0N FRIDAY Tho sen-Ices for tho Day of At-tonement At-tonement will begin at S o'clock Friday Fri-day evening. Tho Day of Atonement, or Yom KIppur, Is the most sacred of all Jewish Jew-ish holy days. It comes this year on Saturday, beginning, as do all Jewish holidays, on the evening of tho day previous and closing at sundown on that day. The observant Jew abstains completely from all food and drink during tho continuance of tho day. It is a day devoted to prayer and penitence, a day whereupon, through confession and contrition, the soul aims to be at one with its God, to Bock His mercy and earn Ills pardon.
