Show DAVID ECCLES' NEW LINE IS OPENED I Tho Eccles Interurban line between Logan and Hyde Park was formally opened yestcrda Over 1,000 people 1 gathered at Hyde Park to celebrate Two hundred of Logan's most prominent promi-nent citizens left in two special electric elec-tric cars for Hydo Park at 2 o'clock I yesterday afternoon. The party Included In-cluded David Eccles, Dr. D. C Budge, H. E. Hatch. Robert Anderson, Frank West of the interurban line. tCIty Commissioners G, W. LIndqulst and T. C. Nolson, County Commissioner Olaf Cronquist, sheriff M Crookston. Congressmwan Joseph Howell and members of the Commercial Boosters Huh ( The trip was made In thirty rain- I utes, the electrics boing met by the Hyde Park band and a large delega- 1 tlon. A procession was formed and the body marched to the meeting E house, where H. E. Hancey presided at J a meeting. Bishop William Hyde made an eloquent address of wolcomo f In which he gavo David Eccles full credit for the Interurban line. Mr. Eccles, roplylng, said that he will finish fin-ish the line to Smithflold and Providence Provi-dence this year. He strongly advised the farmers of Cache county to raise beets, Mr. Eccles gald ho intends to spend his money In developing the county. Congressman Joseph Howell roferrod to the new lino as the IlrBt link of the Interurban road that will evontunlly connect every Cache county coun-ty town. Among other speakers were Dr. R. C. Budge. Lon J. Haddock, H. E. Hatch, Robert Anderson, F. F. Ballif, William Edwards, Joseph Qulnney and M. C. Quarry, Luncheon was served by tho Hyde Park people. Tho special cars returned to Logan at 8:30 last night. |
