Show oo WOULD ERECT A MAUSOLEUM The petition of the Utah-Idaho Mausoleum company, represented by Ralph E. Bristol, to be allowed to erect a large mausoleum In the city cemetery, was referred to tho superintendent super-intendent of streets at the meeting of the city commissioners last night As the completed mausoleum would eventually be turned over to the city for maintenance, the company sets forth In Its petition that $5 per crypt, or $2,500 for a 500-crypt mausoleum, would bo sot aside for the city's use as a maintenance fund. In addition to this tho city would derive considerable consider-able revenue from the rental of the chapel. This chapel would not only bo used for the funeral services over those bodies to be placed In the crypt, but al3o for others in case of Inclement Incle-ment weather prohibiting a service at the grave. In addition to the $5 per crypt for maintenance, the city would be allowed al-lowed a fee of $3 to $5 for the sealing of such crypL Mr Bristol set forth In his petition that the mausoleum would be constructed of reinforced concroto of an ornamental design and trimmed In marble. The probable cost was not mentioned. The owners of tho crypts will be tho real owners of the mausoleum, but the maintenance Is a municipal proposition. The struc- ture would occupy a ground space of 75 by 100 feot. The matter was referred re-ferred to the superintendent of streets and public grounds. nn . |
