Show WHERE WILSON IS WEAK. The union men of Utah do not look npon Woodrow Wilson, tho Democratic candidate for president, with much favor. The Utah Federation of Umbor, which is the voice of tho entire union body of this state, now in session in Eureka, at today's meeting will denounce de-nounce tho American Federation of Labor for announcing a preference prefer-ence for Wilson. The union men take tho position that Wilson is ignorant of the aims and purposes of labor unions and "his conduct before the public entitles him to be classified as a friend of labor for political purposes only." That is the contention of the Progressives. They maintain that Wilson, in all his writings, has been a reactionary, and only of late, since his entrance in to politics, has he said or done anything to indicate in-dicate that he is other than an aristocrat in thought and action. Woodrow Wilson is a good type of citizen, we must admit; he is a man of high ideals and firm for what he thinks is right, but his views of the world have been that of a pedagogue out of touch with" the great struggling masses. He lacks Roosevelt's broad experience and thereforo, he fails to grasp as Roosevelt does the full meaning; of the-complaints of the people. |
