Show THE PRUSSIAN VINTAGE OF 1911 That last year was quite exceptionally exception-ally favorable for the production of wlno la well borne out by statistics of the vintage In Prussia, just pub- Ilshed. Though the area used for tho growing of this luxury was a little smalled than In tho previous year, the yield was more than double tho quantity, quan-tity, because 31.4 hectoliters wero harvested per hectar, against 15.S hectoliters In 1910. Indeed, as regards re-gards the quantity, the growth of 1911 is surpassed onty by th'ose of 1903 and 1904. But tho quality of last year's vintage is incomparably superior to any within the memory of living men. The cortificato Al has been granted to 33 per cent ot tho hock and to about 10 per e'ent of the claret, while the second best quality Is estimated to cover about 59 per cent of the former and 69 per cent of the latter. Thero remain only S per cent of hock and 2i per cent of claret of medium quality. The value of tho julco of the grapes is estimated estima-ted as 4-1,125,000 marks for Prussia alone. That Is moro than ever bo-fore bo-fore and doublo as much over the average of the ten previous years despite de-spite the splendid years of 1903, 1904 and 190G, and notwithstanding tho exceptionally high prices of 190S, when there was a tremendous shortage short-age In quantity, while the quality was satisfactory.
