Show WESTBOUND TIAINS ARE ANNULLED The people of Ogden as well as f the state will bo largely cut off from eastern communication by rail for the next few days as a result of the washouts which havo occurred on tho Union Pacific in Nobrasna. No westbound Union Pacific through train reached Ogden today and the most hopeful prediction does not estimate es-timate an arrival here before tomor-iow tomor-iow evening. This means that passenger traffic and also mail service from the east viu iue uuiuii x-uuiiic win ue entirely entire-ly abandoned for at least 3C hours and possibly much longer. The Interruption In-terruption is caused by the flood conditions of all rivers throughout the middle west and particularly In Nebraska. The Union Pacific has encountered its greatest difficulties at Columbus, Neb , where the Platte and Loup rivers converge. Here a large bridge has been carried away and the main tracks of the railroad are under water for a distance of two miles. The Harriraan road is not the only sufforer as a result of these conditions. condi-tions. At another point In Nebraska yesterday it was necessary for the Northwestern to dynamite a portion of Its tracks to save a town from being be-ing swopt away by. a flood. The Santa Fc and all other transcontinental transcontin-ental lines are battling against conditions con-ditions which approach the Mississippi Mississip-pi flood conditions of a few years ago Some of the trains of the Union Un-ion Pacific are being routed around the most serious trouble points over the Burlington lines. A stub train will bo run west from Green River to Ogden. |
