TO 150 DAYS Carl Jones, tho young man arrested in Salt Lake City and brought back to this city on a cjiargc of grand larceny lar-ceny for tho robbery of the Alvord second-hand store, was arraigned in Polico court, this morning and sentenced sen-tenced to sere. 150 days in the city prison. Tho charge of grand larcony wa3 withdrawn by the. county attor-nev attor-nev and that of petit larcony substituted, substi-tuted, The robbory of the Alvord store oc- curreu August n ut which nine aov-entccn aov-entccn watches were taken. Tho watches wero at first valued at moro that $50, making tho theft a felony. A later valuation of the watches was made bo low by the second-hand dealer deal-er that it snved Jones from being charged with grand larceny. In passing sentence, Judge Murphy told the prisoner of his narrow escape from tho penitentiary. Jones made no statement . n his oyn behalf, merely answering guilty when the charge was read to him. |
