Show PLAIN CITY TO HAVE A BAY OF HI Pioneer Day will be duly celebrated at Plain City, July 24, and a most elaborate program of interesting contests con-tests has been arranged for the occasion oc-casion The program, In addition to manj athletic events, includes music and a patriotic oration by P, M,. Folkman. The committee In charge of the celebration cel-ebration is using all home talent, the Plain City band furnishing the music mu-sic and a number of individual vocalists vocal-ists and artists of the village taking part In the entertainment. Among the sports which have been arranged is a ball game for the afternoon, aft-ernoon, beginning at 4.30 o'clock Some of the amusing contests will bo a wheelbarrow race for men, in which tho cargo will be young ladies, weighing weigh-ing not less than 125 pounds each. A ladies whistling contest will also furnish some fun and the successful whistler will bo given a cut glass bPrry set. Ladles will also vie with one another in throwing baseballs 1 threading needles on the run and in m roiay laces. ft, j Half a dozen contests will be wager l between men and boys and a largo : 1 number of prizes will be given to tho winners. 1B,.
