Show AUTO PARTY SN CENTRAL WYOMING Bidding farewell to Rawlins, Wyo., at S o'clock this morning, the transcontinental trans-continental automoblllsts, who aro traveling from coast to coast, are now on their way to Rock Springs, where they will stop tonight. The party, which numbers sixteen cars, is made up of many millionaires million-aires and near-millionaires. All makes of cars are being used and the party Is making the trip purely for the fun of it and tho journey Is not made with a view of breaking any speed records. Tents for camping out along the route are carried and a huge motor truck, wnlch accompanies the party, carries 1,000 pounds of camp utensils and many pounds of baggage. The distance which the party will travel today is about 112 miles. At this rate of travel they could not reach Ogden before Sunday, as by the Union Pacific route which they are traveling they will be 222 miles from Ogden when they leave Rock Springs. The tourists make a short stop In Utah and will continue the trip westward west-ward toward Reno. The trip will be completed when the front wheels of the cars have been washed by the waves of the Pacific at San Francisco, but the party will skirt the coast from the Exposition city to Los Angeles, where the tour will bo abandoned. |
