Reply was made tonight to those who have criticised crit-icised the peace jubilee reunion of Union and Confederate veterans, by a number of speakers at the camp fire which closed the program of the day. Albert Dunn of Dayton, O., was cheered when he said the Southern people deplored the attitude of those ln the North, "who never smelled gunpowder, gun-powder, but who strove to keep alive the animosities of tho '60s." , Elaborate plans were made for the reception tomorrow of President Taft and Governor Mann The organization of "Tho Society of the Blue and Gray Sons' also was completed today, many Union and Confederate veterans being enrolled. nn |
