Show oo HANS FREECE IS SUED FOR LIBEL Copenhagen, July 20. Hans H. Freece, an American, who arrived in London three months ago as the representative rep-resentative of the Inderdenomlnation-al Inderdenomlnation-al Union of Women1 of America, has been served here with papers in a libel suit brought by Joseph F. Smith, head of the Mormon church. Smith charges Freece with slandering him and the Mormon brotherhood. "I have laid the facts before the minister of Justice," Freece said. "They show that polygamy is practiced practic-ed in Utah and on account of the secrecy of polvgamlst marriages young Danish women who marry Mormon elders here have no- gunrnntee that their huBbands have no other wives." Freece was born in Utah, tho son of a Mormon, who later renounced Mormonlsm and polygamy Following his graduation from the law department depart-ment of Columbia university young Freece began a crusade against Mormonlsm Mor-monlsm and Its tenets. |
