Show COMPANIONS TURN AGAINST ODEKIRK Salt Lake, Aug. 12. J. H. Odeklrk, who shot and killed- Edward, F Barnes, 18 years old. son of Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Barnes. 343 East Seventh South street, on tho morning of January Jan-uary 1, was bound over to the Second district court, following his preliminary prelim-inary hearing in the Justice court of Tj. H. Ovlatt, at Farmlngton, yesterday yester-day on charges of having -burned his automobile at the St. Josoph road-house road-house July 2, with the intention of obtaining insurance on the vohicle. His bond was fixed at $500. Ode-kirk Ode-kirk was unable to furnish that amount and is being held In the custody cus-tody of ShorlfT Fred Harris of Davis county. When Odekirk was arrested his bond was fixed at $2,500. The reduction re-duction of the bond to $500 was mado upon recommendation of Attorney S R, Thurman, who represented Odekirk. Ode-kirk. Odeklrk expects to be able to furnish bond within a few days. The chief witnesses in the case who furnished damaging evidence against ,m Odeklrk-wero Benjamin Gooding, Lee m Crismon and George Lee of Salt Lake, I who accompanied the defondant to S the St. Joseph' roadhouso on the night K of July 2.
