The farm tractors which were purchased by the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg Ry. last spring for the purpose of assisting the farmers along its line with their plowing, have been kept busy all summer and it is expected that they will continue con-tinue hard at work until snow flies. These tractors have been furnished to the farmers at a rate of fl.nn per acre for plowing and 7 5c per acre for harrowing. These prices include the services of an operator and all materials used in operation. The company feels that the work these tractors have done has been of material assistance in helping the farmers to do their share in bringing bring-ing anout the million acre Increase in wheat sowed for next season. An additional advantage, it is pointed" 'out. has been the fact that many farmers, having witnessed the company's com-pany's tractors in operation, have been encouraged to make the purchase pur-chase oi tractors of their own. I) Is known that through this influence j no less than 2 5 tractors have been purchased by farmers along the Buffalo Buf-falo and Rochester divisions since last spring. - |
