Show ABLE RELATIVES SHOULD SUPPORT THE. INDIGENTS Following is a letter which County Attorney Parsons wishes made public: pub-lic: tf Beaver, Utah, Nov. 2S, 1917. Beaver County News. Gentlemen: I have found upon investigation of the indigent list of this county that our taxpayers are supporting a large number of indigents who are members mem-bers of families well able to take care of the indigent. Our law gives the county, a lien upon the property of all relatives of those persons who receive support from the indigent fund and further makes it mandatory upon the County Coun-ty Attorney to institute action to recover re-cover all moneys due the county in this way. It will be. necessary for me to institute in-stitute such actions in a very short time and inasmuch as the law is clear on this subject it behooves those persons who have members of their family on the Indigent list to make some arrangement for their care, as it is hardly just that the 'county should support those who rightly should receive assistance from other sources. Very truly yours, RUSSELL E. PARSONS, County Attorney. |
