Show Republican Primary i Large Attendance Keen Rivalry Exhibited The Republican primary, held in the opera house, last night, was . one of the most exciting and well-attended well-attended of any similar gathering held here for many years. Close to one hundred fifty people - crowded the hall, ancfill were there to take part in the "doin's" and pull ' for their favorites. Electioneering opened up strong and continued at high tide throughout. through-out. The result, of the ballot for delegates resulted in the choice of James Gibson, George Jefferson, E. i H. Street, Harry Ward, L. D. Brooks, George Atkin, Sr., Morrison Hickman, Hick-man, E. B. Jorgensen and L. D. Broker. For alternates, Art Bailey, W. B. Coon, W. R. Martin, Harry Larsen, M. P. Lewis, A. W. Winberg, I. L. Quick, Dr. Swanson and E. C. Blanpeid. But two names were offered for the nomination of a Justice of the Peace, Joe Smith and C. E. Ingols. The former was nominated by a vote of 45-38. For Precinct chairman, George Jefferson was re-elected. E. B... Jorgensen was chosen secretary and John McKeon, Constable.. The primary adojurned at 9:30 p. m. |
